When you press this button it locks you out of Overdrive 4th gear forcing the car into third gear.

Toyota programs their computers to keep the transmission out of overdrive until the engine reaches a certain temperature and therefore runs more efficient. It is in overdrive and will not come out. I read the manual then posted here.
