2005 Toyota Tundra Frame Rust Recall

I had both recalls done2009 and 2012 at my Toyota dealership.

2005 toyota tundra frame rust recall. A hole has rusted through the frame under my drivers side door and a hole has rusted through the rear differential. Toyota will replace the frame. All frames will eventually rust regardless what truck badgebrand it is especially in areas more road salt is used but these frames actually made by Dana Inc.

Jump to Latest Follow 1 - 17 of 17 Posts. Report was that none were found and Toyota performed a goodwill spray undercoat. Came back while truck was in the shop and said that by law they could not give my truck back due to frame rust holes.

I took the truck back to. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Additional components have rusted including linkage arms.

2005 -2006 Frame Rust Recall. Mkb100 July 4 2016 955pm 1. The 2012 recall they noted severe rust and even replaced the gas tank brackets but otherwise nothing was done.

The rusted frame class-action lawsuit may cost Toyota as much as 34 billion to replace truck frames that corrode and rust making the frames a danger due to structural failures. As I recall it is suppose to react with rust and or moisture and bond to it and prevent further rust. Hey- have a 2005 Tacoma got the recall and had rust proofing done the dealer said frame did not need to be.

Although a recall was put out for 2000 to 2003 Tundras they are claiming no responsibility for the 2004 to 2006 models. Said car was unsafe to drive or have on road. This is why the Tundra frames rusted apart much faster than others so it seems.
