2000 Toyota Tundra Rear Diff Cover

My 2004 Tundra leaking rear end is leaking oil and now making grinding noise.

I read all of the different solutions on here and only a couple seemed to apply. We were thinking of drilling and tapping bolts instead of welding- so the Rear Diff gearbox is accessible in the future without pulling the Rear Diff. Welds around the rear Diff cover are leaking.
